More about Roseland Chicago

Why is Roseland called Roseland? In 1873, James H. Bowen, president of the Calumet and Chicago Canal and Dock Company, suggested the name Roseland for the tidy village with its beautiful flowers.

Located in the Roseland Community Area, Block Park is a 2.96 acre park location used for passive recreation. Park patrons can relax in this open green space on benches while enjoying the beauty of nature.
