Making a Difference by helping homeless veterans in Chicago

By: United Relief Foundation

URB’s engagement to help Chicago homeless veterans by purchasing and packaging personal hygiene essentials for distribution to Chicago homeless veterans by the United Relief Foundation is making a difference.

Gathering in groups, URB staff come together in November and December to assemble individual toiletry bags with 25 health care products for the most vulnerable veterans in Chicago.

The difference URB is making by helping homeless veterans in Chicago

Providing personal hygiene essentials helps to prevent homeless veterans’ health to decline and aids in boosting their self-worth which then lends to reclaiming their self-reliance.

It has been reported that in 2020 there were 721 reported homeless veterans in Chicago. However, being 721 are only reported homeless veterans, it would be accurate to state that the number of homeless veterans in Chicago is much higher.
